{"id":26115,"date":"2026-03-27T10:22:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T10:22:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.samco.in\/help-support\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=26115"},"modified":"2026-04-06T10:14:27","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T10:14:27","slug":"what-is-merge-settlement","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.samco.in\/help-support\/article\/what-is-merge-settlement\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Merge Settlement?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Merge Settlement happens when a trading holiday and a settlement holiday fall on back-to-back days, pushing your normal T+1 settlement forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For example: <\/strong>Let&#8217;s say Tuesday is a trading holiday and Wednesday is a settlement holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you buy shares on Monday:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Your shares will not be credited on Tuesday as usual and they will be credited to your Demat account only on Thursday<\/li><li>You cannot sell those shares on Wednesday since they are not yet in your account.
