Once a company declares a dividend per share, you multiply that by the number of shares you hold on the record date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Formula<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dividend Amount = Dividend per Share \u00d7 Number of Shares Held<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A company declares a dividend of \u20b95 per share. You hold 200 shares as of the record date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your dividend = \u20b95 \u00d7 200 = <strong>\u20b91,000<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This amount is credited directly to your linked bank account on the payment date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>One thing to check<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your shares must be in your DEMAT account as of the record date to be eligible.
