When you hold an MTF position, your shares are pledged as security to keep the position active. This pledging is mandatory as per regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samco charges \u20b930 + GST for each pledge request and \u20b930 + GST for each unpledge request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why is pledging required?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you buy shares under MTF, Samco funds a portion of the purchase. To keep that position open, you are required to pledge the purchased shares (or other approved securities) as collateral. This is a SEBI-mandated requirement \u2014 it is not optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Can I sell MTF stocks without unpledging first?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes. You can sell your MTF stocks directly without raising an unpledge request.
