Understanding the difference helps you read your portfolio correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Positions<\/strong> = Positions show your active trades for the current trading day. This includes any Intraday trades that are still open and F&amp;O positions you are currently holding. These are trades that have been placed but not yet squared off or closed. The Positions tab shows your Total P&amp;L and Day P&amp;L across all active trades. Once an Intraday position is squared off either by you manually or by the system at 3:15 PM and\u00a0 it moves out of Positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Holdings<\/strong> = Holdings shows all the stocks you own in your Demat account. These are shares purchased on a Delivery basis that you are holding beyond the trading day. Unlike Positions, Holdings are not affected by market close, they remain in your portfolio until you decide to sell them.
