You can sell shares only if you hold existing positions&#8221; rejection means ?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This message appears when you are trying to sell shares that are not currently showing in your holdings on the Samco app.<br><br><strong>Why does this happen?<\/strong><br>There are a few reasons this rejection can occur:<br><br><strong>1. You bought the shares today (T+1 settlement)<\/strong> In the cash market, shares you purchase are credited to your Demat account on T+1 \u2014 that is, the next trading day. Until then, they won&#8217;t appear in your holdings and cannot be sold.<br><br><strong>2. The stock is in the BE or T category<\/strong> Stocks in the BE (Book Entry) or T (Trade-to-Trade) category follow a different settlement process. Even if you already hold these shares, they may only become available for selling once they are credited to your Demat account \u2014 which typically happens after 2:30 PM on the settlement day. If you&#8217;re seeing this rejection for a BE\/T category stock, please try placing the sell order after 2:30 PM or on the next trading day.<br><br><strong>3. You have already placed a sell order for this stock<\/strong> If you&#8217;ve already placed a sell order for these shares in the Samco app, the holdings would be blocked against that order. Placing a second sell order for the same shares will result in this rejection. Please check your open orders in the <strong>Orders<\/strong> section before placing a new one.<br><br><strong>4. You do not own these shares<\/strong> If none of the above apply, you may simply not hold this particular stock in your Demat account.<br><br><strong>What you should do<\/strong><br>Go to the <strong>Portfolio<\/strong> section on the Samco app and verify whether the shares are showing in your holdings.
