Are All Regulatory Charges Shown in the Contract Note?

Yes. The contract note includes all regulatory and statutory charges applicable to your trades. These are listed on the last page of the contract note document.

Charges shown in the contract note:

  • Brokerage — charged per executed order
  • STT (Securities Transaction Tax) — government tax on equity and F&O trades
  • Exchange Transaction Charges — levied by NSE or BSE
  • GST — 18% on brokerage and transaction charges (CGST 9% + SGST 9% for Maharashtra billing address; IGST 18% for other states)
  • SEBI Turnover Charge — regulatory charge on total turnover
  • Stamp Duty — applicable on buy-side transactions

The Contract Note page on Samco Star also shows a Settlement section, which is split by segment Equity and Commodity giving you a clear view of your settlement obligations for the selected date range.

Charges not included in the contract note:

  • DP (Depository Participant) charges
  • Call and trade fees
  • Annual Maintenance Charges (AMC)
  • Payment gateway charges
  • Delayed payment charges
