How Do I Receive My Dividend?

In India, dividends are paid directly to your linked bank account not to your DEMAT account. Companies use ECS or NEFT to transfer the amount automatically on the payment date. You don’t need to do anything.

Before the payment date, make sure:

  • Your bank account is correctly linked to your DEMAT
  • Your PAN is updated with the company’s registrar
  • Your DEMAT account holds the shares as of the record date

If any of these details are incorrect, the dividend may be delayed or go unclaimed. Unclaimed dividends are transferred to the IEPF (Investor Education and Protection Fund) after seven years after which reclaiming them becomes a lengthy process.

If the payment date has passed and the amount hasn’t been credited, reach out to the company’s Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA) with your DEMAT and PAN details
