What is the procedure for rematerialisation of shares?

Rematerialisation is the process of converting your demat (electronic) shares into physical share certificates. If you wish to rematerialise shares held in your Samco demat account, follow the steps below:

Step-by-Step Process:

1. Obtain a Rematerialisation Request Form (RRF)

Request a Rematerialisation Request Form (RRF) from Samco.

2. Fill in the RRF

Provide the required details, including:

  • ISIN of the security
  • Name of the company
  • Quantity of shares to be rematerialised
  • Your demat account details

Ensure the form is duly filled and signed as per your demat records.

3. Submit the Form to Samco

Submit the completed and signed RRF to Samco

4. Verification & Processing

  • Samco will verify the request and forward it to the concerned Depository (CDSL) and the company’s Registrar & Transfer Agent (RTA).
  • After verification, physical share certificates will be issued in your name and dispatched to your registered address.

Rematerialisation generally takes 2–4 weeks, depending on depository and RTA processing timelines.

Important Points:

  • Rematerialised shares will be issued in physical certificate form.
  • Once rematerialised, shares cannot be traded electronically unless dematerialised again.
  • Applicable rematerialisation charges may apply as per the tariff structure.

Note: The physical share certificates will be issued by the Registrar & Transfer Agent (RTA) and dispatched to your registered address as per depository records.
