What is Nifty Midcap 100 Index: Nifty Midcap 100 index is an index which mainly captures the price of movement of 100 midcap stocks listed on the National Stock Exchange representing the midcap segment of the market. The Nifty Midcap index has all companies from Nifty midcap 50 and remaining 50 stocks are taken from the Nifty Midcap 150 index based on the average daily turnover in the index. Following are few important points of the index

• Free Float Market Capitalization method is used to calculate the nifty midcap 100 index
• There are 100 stocks used to calculate the index
• It was launched on April 1st , 2016
• Base date is April 1st, 2005
• Base value of Nifty midcap index is 1000
• Calculation frequency is on daily basis and the index re-balancing is done semi annually
