Yes, the Samco app updates your portfolio in real time during market hours. As stock prices change throughout the trading day, your portfolio value and P&L figures are automatically refreshed, you do not need to manually reload the screen.
The app displays two P&L figures across both the Positions and Holdings tabs:
Total P&L This is the overall profit or loss on your holdings calculated from the time you purchased the stock. It is the difference between your current market value and the price at which you originally bought the shares. If you have bought a stock at ₹500 and it is currently trading at ₹650, your Total P&L for that holding will reflect a gain of ₹150 per share.
Day P&L This reflects how much your portfolio has moved on the current trading day alone. It is calculated based on the difference between today’s current price and yesterday’s closing price. Day P&L resets every trading day and gives you a quick snapshot of how today’s market movement has affected your portfolio.
Both figures update live as long as the market is open. After market hours, the values reflect the last traded prices of the day.
