If one order in a basket is rejected, the rest of the basket is not affected. Each order is sent to the exchange independently, so a rejection on one instrument does not stop the others from going through.
Common reasons an order gets rejected:
- Margin shortfall for that specific instrument
- Incorrect order details wrong price, lot size, or expired contract
- The instrument hitting a circuit breaker or being frozen at the time of execution
After execution, check the Orders tab to see the status of each order individually. Any rejected order will show a rejection reason. You can then re-place that specific order manually once the issue is resolved you don’t need to re-execute the entire basket.
This is worth keeping in mind for multi-leg F&O strategies. If one leg goes through and another gets rejected, your position may be unhedged. Always check the Orders tab immediately after executing an F&O basket.
