Can I Use Different Order Types Within the Same Basket?
Yes. Order type is set per instrument, not for the basket as a whole. Within one basket you can have some orders as Market, others as Limit, and others as SL configured independently for each.
This is useful when:
- You want a liquid large-cap to fill at Market but prefer Limit for stocks where slippage matters
- You’re building an F&O strategy and want to control the net premium using Limit orders on all legs
- One order in the basket is a stop loss trigger while the rest are fresh entry orders
