The RBI maintained the repo rate at 5.25% while, surprisingly, raising its FY27 growth outlook and lowering inflation projections, reinforcing confidence in the domestic economy. Globally, sharp swings in Brent crude driven by developments around the Strait of Hormuz kept risk sentiment volatile. Meanwhile, institutional flows rotated decisively toward technology, with the Nifty IT Index extending its structural breakout as optimism around AI-led global spending strengthened investor sentiment.
