L&T Shares Surge Over 4% After Strong Q4 Results Amid Geopolitical Uncertainty

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) delivers a strong financial performance in Q4FY25, defying broader market concerns and boosting investor sentiment.

The share price of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) jumped more than 4% in early trading on Friday following the release of its Q4 FY25 results. Despite the prevailing volatility in the Indian stock market caused by the ongoing military conflict between India and Pakistan, L&T managed to buck the trend, trading as high as ₹3,477.55 per share on the BSE.

Impressive Profit Growth in Q4FY25

The engineering and infrastructure giant reported a consolidated net profit of ₹5,497 crore in Q4FY25, marking a 25% increase compared to ₹4,396 crore in the same quarter last year. This strong result has been a key driver of the recent rally in L&T's stock price.

Revenue from operations also reflected a healthy trajectory, rising 11% year-over-year to ₹74,392 crore, up from ₹67,079 crore. This shows continued operational strength across the company's core businesses.

EBITDA grew 13% to ₹8,203 crore, with margins improving by 20 basis points to 11%, showcasing better efficiency and cost control.

Record-Breaking Order Book Fuels Optimism

L&T reported a strong order inflow of ₹356,631 crore for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, marking an 18% increase compared to the previous year. A significant portion of this₹207,478 crore or 58%—came from international markets, highlighting L&T's global reach.

In Q4FY25 alone, the company secured ₹89,613 crore worth of new orders, a 24% rise YoY. Seventy percent of those were international contracts, underlining a surge in overseas demand.

Dividend Announcement Adds to Positive Sentiment

Further boosting investor confidence, L&T's board recommended a dividend of ₹34 per equity share for 2024-2025. The record date has been set for June 3, 2025, giving shareholders another reason to stay invested.

Market Reaction So Far

As of 9:35 AM on Friday, L&T shares were trading at ₹3,428.00, up 3.23% from the previous close, signaling strong investor enthusiasm following the earnings report.
