Can a minor open an individual Demat & trading account?
Yes, a minor can open a Trading & Demat account, but only with the help of a parent or legal guardian. The guardian manages the account until the minor turns 18.
However, a minor cannot trade in stocks, F&O, or any market product.When the minor turns 18, the Demat account can be updated and converted into a regular individual Demat and trading account, allowing full access to trading and investing features.
