Important Update on MTF Position Conversion

Starting 11 May 2026, position conversion involving Margin Trading Facility (MTF) will no longer be available.

This means you will not be able to switch positions:

  • from Intraday (MIS) or Delivery (CNC) to MTF, or
  • from MTF to Intraday (MIS) or Delivery (CNC).

Your existing MTF positions will continue normally and will not be impacted.

  • convert an Intraday (MIS) position to MTF
  • convert a Delivery (CNC) position to MTF
  • convert an MTF position to CNC or MIS

From 11 May 2026, these conversions involving MTF will no longer be allowed.

  • After: This conversion will not be allowed. If you want to take the trade in MTF, you must select MTF while placing the order itself.
Example 2: Converting Delivery (CNC) to MTF
  • Before :You could convert an existing CNC holding into MTF.
  • After :CNC to MTF conversion will not be allowed. You will need to place a fresh MTF order separately.
Example 3: Converting MTF to CNC or MIS
  • Before :You could convert your MTF position into CNC or MIS anytime.
  • After :MTF positions cannot be converted to any other product type. The position will continue as MTF until it is exited.

Important: Existing MTF holdings will continue without any interruption. This update only affects future conversion requests.

Example 4: Taking a Fresh MTF Position

If you want to trade under MTF, simply choose MTF while placing the order. Changing the product type later will not be possible.

Impact on Existing MTF Positions

There is no impact on your current MTF holdings.

  • Your existing MTF positions will continue normally.
  • No action is required from your side.
  • This update only restricts position conversion requests going forward.
Your current MTF holdings remain completely safe and unaffected.

Why is This Change Being Implemented?

  • simplify product handling,
  • improve risk management,
  • ensure better position tracking, and
