What is a Basket Order on Nest Trader and How Does It Work?

A Basket Order lets you buy or sell multiple stocks or contracts in a single go, instead of placing each order one at a time.

It is particularly useful for traders who manage a portfolio of positions and want to execute all of them simultaneously for example, entering multiple F&O contracts at once or rebalancing a set of stocks together.

How to place a Basket Order

  1. Go to Orders and Trades in the top menu
  2. Select Basket Orders > Normal Basket (Shortcut: Ctrl + B)
  3. The Basket Order Window opens
  4. Add the stocks or contracts you want to trade select the segment, instrument, symbol, buy/sell direction, quantity, and price for each
  5. Once all the entries are ready, click Place to execute the entire basket at once
  6. To save the basket for later use, click Export List before placing

You can add equities, futures, and options in the same basket. Once the basket is placed, all orders are sent to the exchange simultaneously.
