Why did my SIP installment not get debited ?
There are a few common reasons a SIP debit can fail:
Insufficient balance – the most common reason. If your bank account doesn’t have enough funds on the debit date, the transaction fails, and depending on your bank, a bounce charge may also apply.
Mandate not approved or expired – if your mandate registration is still pending approval, or has expired, the auto-debit can’t go through until it’s active again.
Bank server or technical issue – occasionally, a debit can fail due to a technical issue on your bank’s end or during processing, unrelated to your account balance or mandate status.
If a debit fails, that month’s installment is simply skipped, and your SIP resumes automatically from the next scheduled date you don’t need to do anything unless the underlying issue (like an expired mandate or KYC) needs fixing.
