Fractional shares let you own a part of a US stock instead of a full share. This means you can invest a fixed dollar amount in any stock, even if the full share price is out of your budget.
Example: 1 share of a US stock costs $1,000 but you only want to invest $100. You can buy 0.10 shares worth $100. If the stock rises to $1,200, your 0.10 shares are worth $120 and the same percentage return as a full share holder, just on a smaller amount.
