What does “You can’t place intraday orders in the last half hour of trade” rejection mean and why did my order get rejected?

This message means you are trying to place an Intraday (MIS), Bracket Order (BO), or Cover Order (CO) after the Samco app has stopped accepting new intraday orders for the day.

Why does this happen?

In the last 30 minutes of the trading session, the Samco RMS system starts the process of auto squaring off all open intraday positions. To prevent new intraday positions from being opened during this period, all new Intraday (MIS), Bracket Order, and Cover Order placements are blocked after 3:00 PM for equity and F&O.

What you need to do:

If you still want to trade after 3:00 PM:

  • Place a Delivery (CNC) order to buy shares for delivery
  • Place an Overnight (NRML) order if you are trading in Futures & Options

Plan your intraday trades earlier in the session to avoid this rejection.
