As an Indian resident, you can invest up to USD 2,50,000 per financial year (April to March) in US stocks. This limit is set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS).
- The USD 2,50,000 limit is cumulative across all overseas remittances and this includes international travel, education, gifts, medical treatment, and investments.
- The limit resets every year on 1st April. Unused limits do not carry forward to the next year.
- All remittances across all banks and platforms are tracked together under your PAN as there is no separate limit per broker.
